Thinking

This is one area that really needs improvement for me. When I am fishing I do a lot of thinking. I am looking at the wind, temp, water conditions and which lure I am using. I also use past experiences either good or bad. What I need to do is do the same when I am at work or at home. Taking notice to the different conditions and reflecting on them either good or bad. Should I have a bad condition, think about and how I can prevent it from happening again. Should I have a good thing happen, ask myself why I had a good thing happen and how can I build on it. The idea behind this is just taking the time to “smell the roses”, in this world of wanting things yesterday we all need to look at ourselves once and a while. If you look in the mirror and don’t like what you see, you can always change it. For example; lets use my job, I am using this job as a stepping stone towards bigger and better things. My work ethic is not a problem; I am loyal to my job, a strong team player, and offer great customer service. I do have a weakness which needs a lot of work, which is initiating a conversation and carrying it. Which I am using this employment to my advantage and trying to initiate conversations, this is hard for me but I am finally breaking through the brick wall and improving. I have a long way to go yet, but I am getting better.

The other thing that helps is having some kind of a support group or someone who will give you an honest opinion. You don’t want a person who will agree with everything you say or will always have something better but will “coach” you through, and will give honest criticism. You have to be able to listen and have an open mind to things. Sometimes you won’t like what you hear, like I said you need an open mind and never take it personally the people you trust are only trying to help.

Finally I challenge you to think and take time to “smell the roses”. Take the time to look back and forward see what needs improvement and what is going well. Build that team of people you trust make up and name for it. Use technology to meet and talk and keep an open mind. There are many ways a person can improve themselves you just have to want to.

I like this one. It seems you are learning a lot about growth and people. Keep on improving and you will get there.
